The usually quiet banks of Mubvinzi River in Chikwaka Communal land came alive on Tuesday the 30th of September 2025 as Memory ‘Mai Juju’ Jeke, the popular bar owner at Riverside, hosted a vibrant birthday celebration that brought together close friends, regular patrons, and well-wishers from across the area.
Held at her own bar, the party was a colourful affair filled with music, laughter, and heartfelt moments. Memory, well-known for her warm smile and unwavering hospitality, stood at the centre of it all, graciously welcoming guests to the place that has become a second home for many.
Among those present were familiar faces of the Riverside community including Sir Munyar,Peter Nheya, Shingirirai ‘Shinsoman’ Nenzou, Robert ‘Yeta Yeta’ Chiremba,Martin ‘MMT’ Mangwiro.
The highlight of the night was a thrilling live performance by the local artist, Power On, whose electrifying set kept the crowd dancing well into the night. His Zimdancehall music struck the perfect chord with the guests, adding life to an already joyful evening.
Guests were treated to delicious braai, flowing drinks, and an atmosphere of love and celebration. In a heartfelt toast, Shinsoman described Memory as “the spirit of Riverside,” applauding her not just as a businesswoman, but as “a sister, a listener, and a pillar in this community.”
Addressing the gathering Memory said, “This place isn’t just about drinks or music. It’s about people. You all bring it to life, and today you’ve made me feel truly blessed.”
As the night wore on, laughter echoed along the Mubvinzi River, and the celebration carried on, a true reflection of unity, friendship, and the impact of one woman who turned a bar into a beacon of joy.
