Israel’s Gaza Strip Latest Expansion Condemned
By Wallace Mawire Palestine
Ambassador to Zimbabwe Tamer Almassri has strongly condemned srael’s latest expansion of its illegal military boundary deeper into the Gaza Strip, a move that he said has further compressed the living space of a population already pushed to the edge of survival. The Ambassador said the Israeli forces now exert control over 70% of the entire Gaza Strip, leaving barely 30% of the enclave, a fraction of already devastated land for more than two million people.
The Ambassador said the accelerating assault on Palestinian life is not in isolation, but a part of a deliberate, coordinated campaign by the Israeli fascist leadership to erase the Palestinian people from their homeland.
He said Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on Gaza has, since October 2023, claimed the lives of more than 73,000 people and left more than 173,000 others injured. He said approximately 90% of Gaza’s infrastructure has been destroyed schools, hospitals, water systems, roads, and homes.
The Ambassador said the state of Palestine also condemned settler terrorism and violence in the West which he said has escalated to unprecedented levels, with the United Nations recording an average of six attacks per day in 2026. He said the organized campaigns which include arson, shootings, and village raids supported by fascist Israeli leaders aim to intimidate Palestinians and displace communities to pave the way for de facto land annexation.
The Ambassador has called on all states and multilateral institutions to take practical and enforceable measures to halt forced displacement, to ensure the protection of civilian life, and to implement comprehensive sanctions against the Israeli state for its ongoing violations of international humanitarian law.
