Memorable Prize Giving Day For Local School

Chakari(Mashonaland West) – Blackmorevale Primary School,a former satellite institution,held a memorable prize giving day ceremony yesterday.

Attended by a throng, the event was graced by Mkache 17 Mine’s mine manager, Halloran Phiri and a number of notable community leaders.The event which was complimented by performances by secondary and primary students momentarily brought the usually quiet environment to life.

The event saw primary and secondary school learners getting accolades for their academic and co-curricular achievements.

Speaking on behalf of Langton Ndlovu – aka Chitanda – the owner of Mkache 17 Mine – Phiri said the mine,as a stakeholder, was committed to playing a pivotal role in the development of the institution.He took the opportunity to encourage parents and the community to support the growth of the school.

Phiri had this to say at the event:”We feel honored and humbled to have been invited to grace the occasion as your guest of honor.

We congratulate the schools for hosting such a successful combined prize giving ceremony. It was so entertaining, especially the choir, traditional dances, and poems.”

He went further to say:”We also congratulate the school for all milestones it achieved this year.
Mkache 17 Mine ,as part of our corporate social responsibility, we are happy to partner with the school in the construction of a 3 roomed classroom block.
Major thanks to Miss Mafusire for the sterling work she has done to mobilise resources for school projects.”

A subsidiary of Birdgreen Transport Pvt Ltd ,Mkache 17 Mine donated building materials at the event.

Once seen as backward, Blackmorevale Primary School has made significant progress over the past few years.
