SPEED HUMPS FINALLY INSTALLED AT MUSIIWA – RESIDENTS REJOICE!

MUSIIWA(Mashonaland Central)– Jubilation echoed through Musiiwa Business Centre this week as long-awaited speed humps were finally installed, bringing smiles and a sense of safety to residents and business owners alike.

For months, the community had voiced their concerns over speeding vehicles that raced through the busy shopping area, putting lives at risk. The call for safety grew louder, especially after local journalist Clive Tawanda Munyaradzi penned a compelling article calling for urgent action. That cry did not fall on deaf ears.

Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Madyira and Ward 16 Councillor Mr Musopero, what once seemed like a distant hope has now become a reality. Onlookers cheered as construction crews installed the black- safety humps — a bold symbol of progress and people-centered leadership.

“It’s like a new era has dawned,” said Mai Rukudzo, one vendor at the business centre. “We feel safer now, and our children can walk freely without fear of speeding cars.” The impact was immediate. Drivers, now forced to slow down, navigated the centre more cautiously, while pedestrians moved with more confidence. Vendors and shop owners alike celebrated the development, hailing it as a long-overdue blessing.

“It may be a small project in the eyes of some,” said another resident, “but to us here in Musiiwa, it’s a life-saver.”

The successful installation has inspired hope that more community-led initiatives will take shape across Musiiwa. Residents are calling it a win for the people — proof that when citizens speak up, and leaders listen, real change is possible.
