Media Fraternity Mourns Jemwa

The local and international media community is in mourning following the tragic passing of seasoned and famed journalist,James Jemwa(49).A veteran media practitioner,Jemwa died on Saturday morning after being hit by a vehicle,in Harare,on Friday night.
Fellow journalist Tinotenda Munongo had this to say about Jemwa’s passing:”lt’s sad news and a surprise that Jemwa is no more.To me he was a generous guy – someone who was always happy,worked hard everyday until his untimely demise.l think the media fraternity has lost a hero who was a unifier.l am really shocked and disturbed that it ended this way.”
Jemwa’s commitment and dedication to duty saw him being detained – several times – by Zimbabwe law enforcement agents , during the late Robert Gabriel Mugabe’s reign.
Famed for his fearless journalism,he worked for a number of local and international media establishments including Al Jazeera.He is survived by his wife and 3 sons.
Mourners are gathered at 4723 Zororo , Highfield.Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
