Relatives ln Dire Need For Assistance To Save The Lives Of Musicians

Kadoma – The relatives of the 3 members of Mbira Dzemunyanza,a local traditional music ensemble, are desperately seeking financial aid following a tragic accident which nearly claimed the lives of the trio.According to sources the artists were traveling from Zvimba to Kadoma on Saturday last week,when the Toyota Probox they were traveling in lost control and veered off the road.The accident occurred near the bridge at Mapfure river.
Temptation Chipangura(41),Laura Antonio (45) and Samson Nyapokoto(45) were initially admitted at Chegutu Hospital.As a result of the gravity of their injuries Samson and Temptation were referred to Sally Mugabe and Chinhoyi Hospital respectively.Laura was still admitted at Chegutu Hospital at the time of going to press.
Relatives of the musicians are appealing for financial assistance towards accessing medical treatment for them.Indications on the ground are that the grave injuries the artists sustained are life threatening and the cost of the treatments are beyond the reach of their families.”We urgently need medication to stop the bleeding.The scan costs $150 US.People l enquired about the leg put the total cost at around $700 US.We are in a tight situation as we do not have that kind of money,”said Nomatter Gogodo,Chipangura’s wife, highlighting the family’s current financial predicament.
