Bienal Sao Paulo Art Exhibition Opens in Zimbabwe

Harare – The 36th edition of the Bienal Sao Paulo art exhibition opened at the National Arts Gallery yesterday.Graced by the presence of the Brazilian ambassador to Zimbabwe H.E Vilmar Rogeiro Coutinho Junior, the event featured art by Moffat Tadiwa,a Zimbabwean artist.
Ambassador Vilmar Rogeiro Coutinho Junior had this to say about Moffat’s work:”ln this edition, Zimbabwe’s Moffat Tadiwa features with his installation drawing on the symbolic power of Noah’s Ark to comment on the cycles of world destruction and the imperative of its reconstruction after the cataclysm.”
The theme for the Bienal Sao Paulo art exhibition for the 36th edition is ‘Not all Travellers Walk Roads of Humanity as Practice ‘.lt was derived from a poem by famous Afro Brazilian writer Conceicao Evaristo.
